Dell refund - part 3
Unfortunately, I may have come to the end of this whole miserable affair:
I think that means: There is no way to purchase a laptop from Dell in Canada and get a refund on the return on Windows XP.
Microsoft, once again, you've forced me to pay your tax.
I think I have only one option left: Small claims court.
- Dell basically said:
- Because we bundle things, you'll never know the real price, so you can't get a refund on something that doesn't have a listed price.
- If you want us to respect the clause in the Microsoft EULA, you have to return the laptop as well.
- You are not allowed to post any of our communications on a public forum.
- I'm not even going to follow up with this with Microsoft, as their EULA is clear that refunds must be processed through the manufacturer: Dell.
- The Canadian Competition bureau won't be looking into this case. They sent a form letter with no real answers - I will follow up on this to find out why it was rejected.

Hey Anthony, just curious as to whether you did attempt that last option!
Hi fishy - I didn't get far. they don't have the money to follow up on all complaints and they didn't think this one was worth their time... No real answer. Go figure. :/
